Custom solder preforms
We make custom solder preforms for special applications where conventional forms of solder do not work. A preform is a measured piece of solder shaped to the joint, such as a ring, washer or disc, so the same amount of solder lands in the same place every time.
Contact us with your drawing or a description of the joint and we will suggest a solution.
Types
- Rings and washers
- For joints around pins, tubes and fasteners.
- Discs and squares
- For flat joints and die attach.
- Your shape
- Made to your drawing and tolerance.
Typical uses
- Repeatable joints in production
- Joints that are hard to reach with wire
- Automated assembly
Which alloy?
Alloy, size and flux options are confirmed per order. See common solder alloys in the alloy guide, a general reference rather than a list of our stock.
Tell us about your preform
Send the shape, dimensions, tolerance, alloy and quantity. A drawing helps; you can attach it when we reply.
Current capability: shapes, size range and tolerances to be published once confirmed.
